Cotundo

Cotundo is a parish known as "The Sacred Valley", because of the large number of petroglyphs found around it and the archaeological remains of cultures found. In 2005, Cotundo was recognized as Cultural Heritage of Ecuador, for the discoveries of archaeological pieces and mainly for the set of stones with engravings or petroglyphs. According to the writings of archaeologist and missionary, Father Pedro Porras, these engravings date back to 300 BC. 💡Curiosities: Cotundo is part of the Misahuallí Valley and offers natural attractions, cultural activities with local communities, archeological remains and ancestral rituals.
