Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve

The Pululahua is an isolated and quiet place a few minutes from the city of Quito. To this extinct volcano arrive daily dense clouds from the Pacific coast that hide under a white mantle the life that exists in this caldera. It is the only protected area in the country that has the category of "Geobotanical Reserve" because its geology and volcanological history are very particular. 💡Curiosities: Apart from the richness of the flora that grows on the slopes and ravines, the reserve protects something unique in the world: an inhabited volcanic caldera near the center of the world.
