Rucu Pichincha

Rucu Pichincha reaches a height of 4,696 meters above sea level. It is an inactive volcano that has two craters, one inside the other, as a result of its previous eruptions. It is the closest volcano to the city of Quito. To reach Rucu, it is possible to do so from Lloa, the Antennas, or the Quito Cable Car; the latter is the most frequented. 💡Trivia: Starting from the ticket office of the Cable Car (2,950 masl) to the Cruz Loma station (3,947 masl), you can admire how the green of the mountain is covered by the grassland, where rabbits jump and various birds fly over. Once at the station, you can find craft shops, a café, and restrooms.
