Located in the Isabela canton of Isabela Island, Galapagos province, the Sierra Negra Volcano caldera is 10 km in diameter and is the second largest active caldera in the world. It is considered to be the oldest of the island's volcanoes. During the rainy season the volcano presents an intense fog, which reduces the observation of the landscape in most of the trail. In dry season you can enjoy a spectacular landscape, a gift for the eyes. 💡Curiosities: It is one of the best places to make geological interpretations and understand the geological origin of the islands.
