The Cotopaxi volcano is an almost perfect snow-capped cone at an altitude of 5,897 meters that constitutes a symbol of natural geography recognized worldwide. It is one of the highest active volcanoes on the planet and dominates the entire landscape of Cotopaxi National Park. It is located in the "Avenue of the Volcanoes" and its predominant ecosystem is the páramo, with its flora and fauna, so the main vegetation is the grassland and small high-altitude shrubs. 💡Curiosities: The Cotopaxi volcano is the second highest active volcano in Ecuador and the fifth highest active volcano in the world. Cotopaxi means "neck of the moon" in Kichwa.
